Chincoteague home destroyed in fire

CHINCOTEAGUE, Va. – At least seven fire department responded to a house fire on Chincoteague Island around 5 p.m. on Friday.

According to officials, when crews arrived they saw flames coming from a three story home at 5080 Wildcat Lane.

There’s no word yet on whether anyone was injured, how much damage was done or what sparked the fire. The investigation is still ongoing.
