500 bags of heroin seized, two arrested in Smyrna



SMYRNA, Del. – Two men are behind bars after police were called to a neighborhood in Smyrna for suspected drug activity.

Police say when they arrived on scene they searched inside the car of 19-year-old Tyler Scott and 22-year-old Malik Rothwell and found more than 500 bags of heroin and a loaded handgun.

Police also reportedly recovered nearly 12-hundred dollars in suspected drug money from inside the car. 47 ABC is told both Rothwell and Scott were arrested and taken to the Smyrna police department where they were charged with possession of a firearm and a controlled substance.

They are both currently being held at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center.
