Worcester County leaders discuss wide-ranging topics at town hall

OCEAN PINES, Md. –  Worcester County commissioner Chip Bertino held a town hall so people could hear from him and other county leaders about issues facing the area.

Bertino says he opposes a potential construction project to put a roundabout at the North Gate entrance to Ocean Pines along Route 589.

The conversation also turned to local children, with Decatur Middle School Principal Lynne Barton discussing the school’s response to physical and mental health issues, as well as what’s next for the school’s potential expansion.

The County’s Deputy Sheriff Mark Titanski discussed the department’s recent work to thwart a would-be attacker at a Snow Hill school, and he shared a message to county parents.

“Our children, in the next 10 or 20 years, are going to be the leaders of this county. We are going to keep them safe, we are going to let them learn in a comfortable, safe environment where they know they are protected,” said Chief Deputy Mark Titanski.

Also in attendance were the county’s State’s Attorney Kris Heiser and commissioner Jim Bunting.
