Wicomico Co. votes to dismiss Attorney Paul Wilber

WICOMICO CO., Md. – The Wicomico County Council confirmed on Tuesday that it has voted to dismiss County Attorney Paul Wilber.

We’re told the county voted 6-1 to terminate Wilber, with the sole vote to keep him coming from Councilman Bill McCain. The council unanimously approved the other department heads to continue in their positions.

We are also told that this move could seriously hurt the county, as many projects and official documents must be approved by the county attorney before moving forward.

At this time, no reasoning has been given for Wilber’s termination. It is not currently clear whether his termination is immediate or if he could continue until a successor is named.
