Two men arrested on drug charges following traffic stop in Dover

DOVER, Del . – Dover Police arrested two men Friday evening after a traffic stop led to the discovery of drugs.

While on patrol at around 7:45 p.m., officers observed a vehicle that was flagged for “unauthorized use of a motor vehicle” through a computer check. A traffic stop was initiated, and contact was made with the occupants, 29-year-old Devon Cannon and 28-year-old Russell Burton.

A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 252 bags of heroin.

Cannon was charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of heroin, and drug paraphernalia, and was released on his own recognizance.

Burton was charged with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. He was also released on his own recognizance.
