Two arrested on drug, gun charges in Dover

DOVER, Del. – Dover Police and Delaware Probation and Parole arrested two people on Wednesday following an investigation into a suspect that fled from officers on an ATV on a previous date.

29-year-old Corey Lewis was taken into custody during a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon, in connection to the investigation. A search warrant was obtained and executed at Lewis’ home in the unit block of South New Street, resulting in the recovery of two handguns, 92.3 grams of marijuana, and 624 bags (4.4 grams) of heroin.

32-year-old Shirmeria Brinson was also taken into custody as a result of the search.

Lewis was charged with four counts of possession of a firearm by person prohibited, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of heroin, possession with intent to deliver heroin, drug paraphernalia, traffic offenses, and possession of ammo by person prohibited. He is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on $61,700 cash bond.

Brinson was charged with four counts of possession of a firearm by person prohibited, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of heroin, possession with intent to deliver heroin, and drug paraphernalia. She was later released on her own recognizance.
