Sheriff’s Office, Pittsville PD working to improve local patrol communication

PITTSVILLE, Md. – Concerns have been raised by Pittsville locals about finding drug paraphernalia at the town’s park. But their police chief says he and other agencies have made patrolling the area a priority.

Law enforcement wants to stress that if you see evidence not to interfere, and instead contact authorities.

We’re told the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office works closely with the newly-minted Pittsville Police Department, and will respond to the area if contacted.

Police Chief Robert Harris says they have seen drugs in the area of the park, and says it is patrolled often.

“It is patrolled throughout the day. The sheriff’s office, when they can, they come. State police, as well. When I’m working, I come by here a number of times throughout the course of the day,” said Pittsville Police Chief Robert Harris.

We’re told a new communication channel is in the works between the Pittsville Police Department and the Sheriffs Office to improve the area’s patrolling as well.
