UPDATE: Wanted assault suspect arrested in Seaford

5/14 UPDATE: Seaford Police say that 31-year-old Brayan Hammond has been arrested in connection to an assault that took place last week.

Hammond reportedly turned himself in to the Seaford Police Department on Monday. He was subsequently charged with possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, second degree assault, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

He was committed to the Department of Corrections on a $25,000 secured bail.


SEAFORD, Del. – Officials from the Seaford Police Department are asking for the public’s help in locating a Laurel man who is currently wanted on assault charges.

According to police, 31-year-old Brayan Hammond is wanted in connection to an assault that happened Thursday evening in the 400 block of North Pine Street in Seaford. Police responded to the report shortly before 7:30 p.m., and on arrival learned that Hammond and the victim had gotten into an altercation after the victim caught Hammond attempting to steal property. Hammond then assaulted the victim, causing a laceration to the victim’s head and ear before fleeing the scene.

Police say two children were also present during the incident.

The victim was taken to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries and later released.
