Seaford man dead following overnight single-vehicle crash

MILLSBORO, Del. – A Seaford man is dead following a single-vehicle crash in Millsboro early Sunday morning, and now Delaware State Police is investigating.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is in charge of the investigation after a 38-year old man, driving a Hyundai Accent, lost control of his car around a curve while going a high rate of speed.

The Hyundai was traveling eastbound on Laurel Road, just west of Curley Drive, when the man drove off the north edge of the road and went into a ditch, striking a utility pole. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt, and was ejected from the car. He was the only occupant.

The driver’s name is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.

Laurel Road was closed for approximately 3 hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.

The investigation is ongoing.
