Seaford man arrested on drug, weapons charges

SEAFORD, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested a Seaford man Tuesday afternoon after finding drugs and a weapon during a traffic stop.

At around 12:30 p.m., members of the Governor’s Task Force (GTF) and the Sussex Drug Unit (SDU) were in the area of the Duck in Car Wash in Seaford when they identified 28-year-old Jesse Drummond at the business. Drummond was seen driving a blue Toyota Avalon and was known to have a revoked drivers license as well as an active capias.

Officials initiated a traffic stop on Seashore Highway, where Drummond was taken into custody. A K-9 scan of the vehicle alerted police to the presence of narcotics, leading to the discovery of 21 bags of heroin (.147 grams), 1.22 grams of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and a handgun that had previously been reported stolen. It was also learned that Drummond is prohibited from possessing a firearm.

Drummond is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on $29,500 secured bond on charges of possession of firearm by person prohibited, two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, receiving a stolen firearm, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
