Saturday morning crash claims life of Pennsylvania man

 

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – A single-car crash left one dead Saturday morning in Wicomico County.

According to Maryland State Police, the accident happened around 6:32 AM on US Route 50 just east of the Vienna Bridge.

Upon arrival, Troopers say they found a 2002 Toyota Tundra had left the right side of the roadway and rolled over.

Police say the driver, 53-year-old Joseph Whipp, was taken to PRMC in Salisbury where he was shortly pronounced dead.

Rochelle Whipp and an 11-year-old who were passengers in the car were also reportedly taken to PRMC for treatment.

One lane of US Route 50 remained open during the investigation. The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) responded to assist with traffic control.

This crash is still under investigation.
