OXON HILL, Md. – A 6th grader from Salisbury Middle School is currently competing at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Oxon Hill.

Austin Loar has advanced to Round 3 of the competition, after correctly spelling the word “impossible” on Tuesday.

We’re told that Austin’s sponsor is the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, who funded his entire trip to the spelling bee.

Finalists in the 2019 spelling bee will be named today.
