Safety tips while on summer vacation
47ABC – With summer almost in full swing it is important to keep a few things in mind to stay safe while on vacation.
Whether you find yourself in or out of the country, it is crucial for you to prepare yourself for any situation.
According to Maryland State Police Lieutenant Christopher Davala you should always let your family know your plans. Davala tells 47 ABC you should also stay off social media so you do not tip off criminals. In addition, if you are visiting a new country you should get directions to local police for emergencies.
“You’re never going to stop crime 100 percent as much as we’d like to believe that we can, we can’t, but what we can do is limit our exposure to the criminal activity,” says Davala.
Lieutenant Christopher Davala also said another way to protect yourself is by traveling in groups and staying in well-lit areas.
