Portion of US Route 13 in Salisbury to close during the overnight hours next week

SALISBURY, Md. – The Maryland Department of Transportation announced on Thursday that a portion of US 13 Business will be closed in both directions during the overnight hours of May 6th.

We’re told the closure is so that a utility beam can be set across the Wicomico River, which is the first phase of a project to replace the US 13 Business bridge at this location. Officials say that relocating utilities across the river ahead of time will reduce impacts to the public and shorten construction time.

The road will be closed between Main Street and East Carroll Street beginning at 9 p.m. on Monday, May 6th, and remain closed until 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 7th, weather dependent. Detour signs will be posted for motorists.
