Pittsville Library to shut its doors temporarily for renovations
PITTSVILLE, Md. – The local library will be shutting down for two weeks later this month for renovations.
The Pittsville branch of the Wicomico County Libraries will be replacing its ramp leading to the front entrance. The wood has been rotting, and an assessment determined a complete replacement is the best option.
This branch has been growing in recent years, and it could lead to future expansion in the near future.
“Last year, we had 9,600 visits. That means people are discovering the library every day. It’s on the grounds of the Pittsville Elementary and Middle School. And also, just having a lot of repeat visitors from the community,” said the Wicomico Libraries executive director Ashley Teagle.
The library will be closed from May 28 to June 10. Library visitors can visit the center branch at the Salisbury Mall, or the library in downtown Salisbury.
