Pittsville church to distribute water bottles
PITTSVILLE, Md. – People are rounding up hundreds of water bottles to help provide clean H2O for the community this weekend.
According to the pastor of the Ayres United Methodist Church in Pittsville, Howard Travers, residents are in need for water for things like cooking and bathing. That is why he is asking people to help donate cases of bottled water as well as to help distribute them on Saturday.
Travers said both the church and the Pittsville Town Hall will be collecting donations until the water issue is over.
“Our church, Ayres church is an active part of our community in fact our church is located the shadow of town hall and the Pittsville water tower and so it’s important for us as a church to be involved actively in our community,” said Travers.
For those who are interested in donating they should contact Pastor Travers at 443-783-1730.
