Outdoor fitness competition coming to Wicomico County

SALISBURY, Md. –  Grab the dumb-bells and do a few squats, because this November a new fitness competition is coming to Salisbury.

The Delmarva Fitness Classic has just been announced by Wicomico County, and will bring something to the eastern shore it’s never seen, an outdoor fitness competition.

Participants will compete in five different CrossFit-style workouts over a two-day period.

Organizers tell us it was important to hold this competition during the weekend immediately prior to Veterans Day.

“With the workouts that the CrossFit community does, a lot of them are tied in with fallen heroes. So we felt that this was a perfect weekend for us to host this event,” said Brian Workman, the county’s athletic complex manager.

This event is being put on in coordination with Iron Strong CrossFit and CrossFit Salisbury.

You can register at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center or online. The $140 registration fee will partially go to the county’s youth scholarship program.
