New bike share program coming to Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. – In the next couple of weeks, the City of Salisbury will be welcoming a brand new bike share program.

Gotcha bike share signs will be all over downtown Salisbury and Salisbury University’s campus. Both the city and SU have signed contracts with Gotcha, one of the biggest ride share programs in the country.

Hundreds of bikes and scooters will be around town for anyone to pick and use.

“Both are electric or E-assist meaning you don’t have to pedal very hard so if you’re using it to commute to work which we found many people did when Spin was here, you’re not going to work up as much of a sweat,” explains Salisbury Mayor Jake Day.

The city has signed a three year contract with Gotcha and the hope is with this new bike share program it will make it easier for those who don’t have a car to get around town.

Salisbury did have an agreement with SPIN but they disbanded that bike share program because they changed over to just scooters.
