Maryland Eastern Shore introduces new head coach Jason Crafton

Hawks give new men's basketball coach 5-year contract

Princess Anne, MD- The University of Maryland Eastern Shore held a mini-pep rally, turned into press conference for new men’s basketball coach Jason Crafton.

UMES President Heidi Anderson spoke along with Athletics Director Keith Davidson, before bringing the “man of the hour” to the floor. The Long Island, NY native spoke for about 15 minutes, thanking his family and UMES administration for the opportunity to lead.

Crafton comes to The Shore after a year as an assistant head coach with the NBA G-League’s Delaware Blue Coats. Prior to that, the 37-year old had stints at Villanova, Navy, and Division II Nyack (NY.) He becomes the program’s third men’s basketball coach in three years.
