Mardela seizes Bayside South title with win over Decatur

MARDELA SPRINGS, Md. – A complete game performance from Nathan Peterman propelled Mardela to the Bayside South title with a 3-1 victory over Decatur.

The Seahawks struck first with a sacrifice fly to make it 1-0 and Hayden Snelsire was working a no-hitter into the fourth inning. Ryan Teaman broke things up in the same inning with an RBI double to right center, knotting things up at 1-1.

The next inning, Mardela had runners in second and third with 2 outs, but an errant pickoff move sailed into left field and allowed both Warrior runners to trot in to home. Peterman locked things down in the seventh with two strikeouts and getting a groundout to end the ballgame.

Mardela will take on Bayside North champ Colonel Richardson to decide the conference championship.
