Friday morning crash claims life of Pittsville man

PARSONSBURG, Md. – A single vehicle crash left one dead Friday morning in Parsonsburg.

According to Maryland State Police, the accident happened just after 8 a.m., on eastbound Route 50 just east of East Side Road. Through investigation, troopers determined that a 2003 GMC Yukon was traveling eastbound on Route 50 when the driver lost control and ran off the right side of the roadway, overturning multiple times.

The driver and sole occupant, identified as 54-year-old John Bryant of Pittsville, was ejected from the vehicle. Bryant was transported to PRMC where he was pronounced dead.

We’re told that Maryland SHA responded to the scene to assist with a partial lane closure and traffic direction.
