Fourth suspect arrested in connection to February 2019 drug investigation
SUSSEX CO., Del. – Delaware State Police have arrested the fourth suspect wanted in connection to a February 2019 drug trafficking investigation.
At around 2 p.m. Tuesday, the New Castle County Governor’s Task Force (GTF) was conducting patrols in the area of Route 13 and Beaver Brook in Bear when they stopped a red Mercedes for following a vehicle too closely. After making contact with the driver, identified as 49-year-old Reginald Sample, police learned that he had an active arrest warrant out of Sussex County.
Sample was taken into custody, and a search of his vehicle led to the discovery of 100 grams of cocaine. He was charged with five counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a tier 4 quantity, five counts of possession of a controlled substance in a tier 5 quantity, three counts of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, receiving stolen firearm, second degree conspiracy, and following a vehicle too closely.
Sample is currently being held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $176,000 secured bond on his original charges and $40,100 cash only bond on his additional charges.
