Fire officials investigating poultry house fire in Dorchester Co.

HURLOCK, Md. – Maryland State Fire Marshals are investigating an early morning poultry house fire in Hurlock.

Officials say the blaze was reported at around 7:15 a.m., at 6743 East New Market Ellwood Road. 80 firefighters responded to the two alarm fire, which took nearly two hours to control.

Heavy fire damage has been estimated at $335,000. The cause and origin of this fire remains under investigation.
