Dover man arrested following illegal drug distribution investigation
DOVER, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested a Dover man on multiple drug charges Wednesday morning.
At around 11:30 a.m., officials with the Delaware State Police Kent County Drug Unit (KDU) and the Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team wrapped up a three month long drug investigation into the distribution of crack cocaine. It was learned that the target of the investigation, 42-year-old Ronald Freeman, was traveling out of state to pick up drugs.
A search warrant was obtained for Freeman’s vehicle, which was executed when police stopped him at the intersection of Bay Road and SR 10. The search resulted in the seizure of approximately 365.07 grams of cocaine, 6.15 grams of marijuana, more than $200 in suspected drug money, and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Freeman is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on $40,500 secured bond on charges of possession of a controlled substance in a tier 5 quantity, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a tier 4 quantity, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
