Del. State Police arrest wanted Milford man

LINCOLN, Del. – Delaware State Police have arrested a Milford man who was wanted for kidnapping and other related charges.

At around 1:15 p.m. on May 15th, troopers responded to a residence in the 8000 block of Clendaniel Pond Road in Lincoln for a domestic related incident. On arrival, it was learned that the parties who were reportedly involved had already left the scene, but further investigation revealed that 27-year-old Richard Stratton showed up to the residence with a handgun and began to point it at several people. Stratton then reportedly forced his girlfriend into a vehicle at gunpoint, then jumped into the vehicle as a passenger and fled the scene with an unknown driver.

At around 9:15 p.m. Monday evening, troopers received a tip that Stratton was en route to the Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution. Troopers responded and located Stratton in his vehicle in the parking lot, where he was taken into custody.

He is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on $471,000 cash only bond on charges of kidnapping first degree, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, four counts of aggravated menacing, conspiracy second degree, and breach of release.
