Decatur claims first Bayside softball championship in 19 years
Seahawks avenge regular season blowout with title win
SALISBURY, MD- For the first time since 2000, the Stephen Decatur softball team is the Bayside’s softball champion. The Seahawks avenged an early season 12-1 loss, topping Colonel Richardson 4-1 on Tuesday evening in Salisbury.
Lexi Black pitched all seven innings for Decatur, registering 4 strikeouts in the win. Katie Wrench and Alex Richawlski registered RBIs, while Brooklyn Pugner hit a solo home-run in the third inning.
Both teams now enter their prospective MPSSAA state softball tournaments, with Decatur participating in the 3A division, while Colonel takes to 1A.
