Community joins to celebrate with student battling cancer

SALISBURY, Md. –  One Beaver Run Elementary student got a birthday celebration of a lifetime in downtown Salisbury Thursday.

Junior Rodriguez, diagnosed with stage four liver cancer, celebrated his big day with some local heroes, including the Salisbury Fire and Police Department, along with our local Spider-Man.

The event was held at Market Street Inn, where the restaurant agreed to donate half of their sales tonight to Junior’s family to help in his fight.

“He loves it. He doesn’t want people to feel sorry for him, but he is eating up the attention,” said Junior’s Pre-Kindergarten teacher from last year, Grace Olinde. “I think it means a lot to his family just to know that they have, not only our support, but the community as a whole.”

If you missed out there will be another celebration that will be the same, right down to the fire trucks and the Spider-Man, and it will be held at Market Street Inn on Sunday from 3-8 PM.
