Centreville woman arrested possession and distribution of drug charges

CENTREVILLE, Md. – Officials from the Queen Anne’s County Drug Task Force unit and the Queen Anne’s County Office of the Sheriff arrested a Centreville woman late last week following an investigation into the distribution of drugs.

The investigation began earlier this year, when officials learned that cocaine and heroin/fentanyl were being sold in and around the Centreville area. It was during this investigation that 27-year-old Ashley Sudler was identified as a suspect.

On April 26th, members of the task force were conducting surveillance on Sudler when they witnessed suspected hand to hand sales of controlled dangerous substances from a sidewalk within 1,000 feet of Kennard Elementary School, which is a posted drug-free school zone.

Sudler was subsequently taken into custody and taken back to her residence in the 400 block of North Commerce Street, where a search and seizure warrant was executed. Officials recovered suspected cocaine, suspected heroin, suspected marijuana, and other related paraphernalia from her home.

Sudler was charged with possession of heroin and cocaine with intent to distribute within 1000 feet of Kennard Elementary School, possession of heroin and cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was initially held without bond.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
