Annual butterfly release gives ‘Wings of Hope’ to those impacted by cancer

LEWES, Del.– A butterfly release in Sussex County is allowing people to remember their loved ones who lost their lives to cancer.

47 ABC’s Erica Murphy was joined by Hailee Gooch from Cancer Support Community Delaware to talk about their 9th annual ‘Wings of Hope’ butterfly release.

The Butterfly release will be held on Sunday, June 2nd, 2019 at Cape Henlopen High School from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M.

Around 300 people are expected to attend the free, community-wide event this year.  There will be thousands of paper butterflies on display, live music, food trucks, vendors, and more.

You can purchase a seeded butterfly for $10 or a live monarch butterfly for $40 pre-ordered and $50 on the day of the event.
