Walk the Boardwalk for Kids returns to Ocean City

OCEAN CITY, Md. – Over a hundred people gathered on the boardwalk in Ocean City on Sunday to advocate for kids in Worcester County who are abused.

The annual Walk the Boardwalk for Kids hosted by the Cricket Center is a chance for people to get outside and enjoy the boardwalk while giving back to kids who have experienced some form of abuse of neglect in the community.

People who attended the event also had the chance to see hundreds of pinwheels planted in the sand, which serve as a reminder of the happy, safe and carefree childhood that every child deserves.

“This is our largest prevention effort of the year at the Cricket Center,” said Wendy Myers, the spokesperson at the Cricket Center.

“The Cricket Center is the Worcester County Child Advocacy Center and what we do is take care of any kids in the county who need help for abuse,” said Myers.

According to Myers this is the largest fundraising event for the Cricket Center in Worcester County.
