Two arrested on drug charges at Milford Public Library
MILFORD, Del. – A several week long investigation into the sale of illicit drugs wrapped up on Wednesday with the arrest of two people.
Officers from the Milford Police Department’s Narcotics Unit were conducting surveillance of a Blue Jeep Cherokee, which was tied to the investigation, in the parking lot of the Milford Public Library. Both suspects were seen approaching the vehicle and grabbing a container from the hidden location on the exterior of the vehicle. One of the suspects then was seen opening the container and putting it back in the hidden location, before both went back into the library.
When both suspects, identified as 38-year-old Lucretia Chandler and 39-year-old Antonio Tyler, were seen leaving the library again, detectives made contact with them and detained them in order to execute an active search warrant on their vehicle.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a small black hide a key box that contained suspected heroin for distribution. It was also discovered that Tyler was in possession of drug paraphernalia related to heroin and an unknown amount of cash.
Both Tyler and Chandler were arrested and charged with drug dealing, conspiracy second degree, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Chandler was released on $5,700 unsecured bail and Tyler was released on $12,200 unsecured bail. They were also issued no contact orders with the Milford Public Library and ordered to appear for a preliminary hearing at a later date.
