POLICE: 6 suspects wanted following alleged robbery and assault in Dover

DOVER, Del. – The Dover Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding and identifying the six people accused of robbing and assaulting a man on Easter Sunday.

Police say the robbery happened in broad daylight in downtown Dover. Master Corporal Mark Hoffman with the Dover Police Department said, “This was at approximately 1:30 in the afternoon.”

The 31-year-old victim allegedly told police he pulled out his wallet to donate money to a woman in need and that’s when five men approached and jumped him.

Master Corporal Hoffman explained, “He was approached by a female who allegedly asked him for a dollar. The victim pulled out his wallet, he was then jumped by several suspects and assaulted and they also took his wallet with an undisclosed amount of cash.”

The woman was described as being an African American female with red pants and a white shirt with black stripes.

Police say since they don’t have much information to go off of other than that, they need the public’s help when it comes to finding the suspects.

Master Corporal Hoffman said, “We rely on the community to help us just like they rely on us to help them in times of need but also in prevention and solving of crimes.”

Dover police are asking anyone who may have any information in regards to this case to give Delaware Crime Stoppers a call at 1-800-TIP-3333.

A cash reward of up to $1,000 is possible for information that leads to an arrest.

Police say the victim refused medical treatment following the robbery.
