Orioles fall to Yankees in home opener 8-4

Yankees top Orioles

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Orioles looked to get back in the win column Thursday afternoon hosting the New York Yankees in the O’s 2019 home opener.

For those at the game, optimism filled the seats as Baltimore led 4-1 heading into the top half of the sixth inning. Gary Sanchez would cut the lead to 4-2 with a solo home run and then with two runners on base, Gleyber Torres sent out a three run shot to left field putting the Yanks in the drivers seat 5-4.

Through their remaining four at bats, the Orioles would fail to score, dropping for the second consecutive game 8-4.

Baltimore has Friday off before hosting the Yankees yet again on Saturday night at 7:05p.m.
