Ocean Pines seeks input for traffic circle on Route 589

OCEAN PINES, Md. – The Maryland Department of Transportation is looking to bring some new construction that will help relieve traffic near Ocean Pines.
According to the Ocean Pines Association, part of their mission is to transform the intersection of Route 589 and Ocean Parkway into a traffic circle.
But, they have asked residents for suggestions on the construction, which will then be passed along to the Department of Transportation.
Some residents tell 47ABC they are looking forward to this new plan.
“I think the civil engineers should examine carefully and see whether it’s going to create more congestion or more confusion or if it aids in flow,” said Russel Lederman, an Ocean Pines resident.
“If it aids in flow according to their examination then it’s probably a great idea,” said Lederman.
The Ocean Pines Association says residents will have until midnight to send suggestions on the new construction to stuttle@oceanpines.org.
