New Public Safety Secretary announced in Md.

MARYLAND – Governor Larry Hogan has appointed a new man to serve in the state’s Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services.

Robert Green will take over as secretary for acting secretary Mike Ziegler, who has served in the position since March, after former secretary Stephen Moyer stepped down.

Green has over 34 years of experience and comes after serving as the director of the Montgomery County Department of Correction and Rehabilitation.

Green has not yet mentioned his priorities as the new secretary, staffing shortages across the state, and especially here on the Eastern Shore, have been an issue that the department is focused on tackling.
