Maryland State Police participating in National Drug Take Back Day
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Maryland State Police are partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration to participate in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on April 27th.
State police barracks throughout the state will be participating in this initiative, aimed at giving citizens a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of all unwanted and unused prescription medications.
Locally during past initiatives, Troopers have collected more than 400 pounds of prescription drugs. Maryland State Police as a whole have collected over 22,000 pounds.
All state police barracks will be collecting medications from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the 27th. In addition, barracks across the state have become 24/7 drop-off locations for unused prescription medications. Citizens can drop off medications at any time, no questions asked.
