Mardela baseball ends Bennett’s undefeated start to the year

MARDELA SPRINGS, Md.- Powered by a four-hit, nine strikeout performance on the mound from Ethan Peterman, Mardela took down Bayside South counterpart 4-0 on Wednesday afternoon.

Peterman went the distance, not allowing any runs. At the plate, he got the offense support he needed from Troy Turner and Colton Lanham who both had RBIs. Dylan Smith scored three out of the four Mardela runs, which included him stealing home. Jaden Shelton would score the fourth run, coming home from first base on a few bad infield throws from Bennett.

Mardela moves to 12-4 overall, with a 6-0 record in the Bayside South, putting them in first place.

Bennett drops to 10-1 overall, and 4-1 in the division, trailing right behind Mardela with two postponed games still to be finished.
