Lt. Governor Hall-Long outlines steps for Delaware to address opioid use disorder

DOVER, Del. – Delaware’s Lieutenant Governor Bethany Hall-Long, has outlined steps for the first state to use to better address the growing opioid epidemic. Officials tell us the final report contains eight recommendations which focus on four key components to create an effective treatment system. Those include providing access, coverage and reimbursement for individuals so that they can have access to quality care. Providing a substance use disorder workforce that can address treatment needs, and an expansion of medically assisted treatment in Delaware’s corrections system. Hall-Long adds that by adopting this system–they can better identify ways to deliver addiction treatment services for all Delawareans.
