Local developer bringing downtown Salisbury to new heights

SALISBURY, Md. –  A local developer is taking downtown Salisbury to new heights. 130 and 132 East Main Street will soon be the home of Salisbury’s first ever high rise.

Nick Simpson is turning the historic building into a 12-story mixed use facility that will include retail on the first floor, student housing on the floors above, and an events space on the top floor.

“We’ve been working for the past year and a half to get the permitting and zoning finalized we’re done with that we’re doing some final agreements with the city on parking and then we will start construction in the next few months,” explains Simpson.

He tells us that he hopes this new high rise will better connect Salisbury University with downtown revitalization as well as compel more people to invest and redevelop the downtown area.
