Lewes man arrested on drug charges
LEWES, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested a Lewes man on Thursday after investigating the sale of illegal drugs.
The investigation began when troopers were notified that 26-year-old Cody Christine was distributing crack cocaine and heroin in the Lewes and Rehoboth Beach areas.
At around 4:45 p.m. Thursday, Troopers stopped a black Kio Rio for speeding on Lewes Georgetown Highway, in which Christine was a passenger. During the stop, a K-9 scan was conducted, which resulted in a positive alert for the presence of a narcotic. A subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted, leading to the discovery of crack cocaine and heroin, along with drug paraphernalia.
The driver of the vehicle was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and was also given a traffic violation for speeding.
Christine was arrested and taken back to Troop 7, where additional bundles of heroin were located in his possession. Due to Christine being on probation, Probation and Parole were contacted, and a search of his residence in the unit block of Bristol Way was conducted. Inside his home, officials found approximately 10.92 grams of heroin packaged in approximately 1560 individual bags, as well as approximately 1.14 grams of crack cocaine.
Christine was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a tier 4 quantity, possession of a controlled substance in a tier 5 quantity, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence- evidence suppression, possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
He is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on $62,503 secured bond.
