Man charged in Laurel homicide investigation extradited back to Delaware

DELAWARE – Police have confirmed that 32-year-old Joseph Beck has officially been extradited back to Delaware following his arrest in Virginia.

Beck is charged with first degree murder and abuse of a corpse, along with other pending charges, in the murder of Tia Tucker in early March. Tucker’s body was found on the side of the road in Laurel on March 9th, and autopsy results revealed that her death was a homicide and was a result of a gunshot wound to the upper torso.

Police believe Beck killed Tucker sometime between March 6th and 8th. We were told that Beck was an acquaintance of Tucker.

Beck was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance along with driving with a suspended license on March 7th. He was arrested again on March 13th for diving on a controlled substance in Stafford County, Virginia, and has since been awaiting extradition back to Delaware.

Beck is currently being held at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $2,062,000 cash only bond.
