Harrington Police arrest Laurel man on third DUI, out of state fugitive charges
HARRINGTON, Del. – The Harrington Police Department arrested a Laurel man Monday evening on DUI and other charges.
While on patrol at around 6:30 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on Corn Crib Road for a traffic violation. After making contact with the driver, identified as 42-year-old Michael Headley, officers observed a strong odor of alcohol, which led to standard field sobriety tests being conducted.
Police took Headley into custody as a result of the sobriety tests and transported him back to the Harrington Police Department, where it was learned that Headley had a suspended drivers license as well as two prior DUI convictions dating back to 2000. Headley was also wanted out of Wicomico County, MD, for failure to appear for a driving under the influence trial.
Headley is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on $1,101 cash only bail on fugitive from another state, third offense DUI, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and possession of a suspended license charges.
