Fruitland Police reminding citizens to lock up at night

FRUITLAND, Md. – The Fruitland Police Department is encouraging all residents to participate in the “#9PMRoutine”.

The launch of the #9PMRoutine is due to an increase of thefts from vehicles over the years, most of which are left unlocked. In more than 90% of theft cases reported to the Fruitland PD, the vehicle was left unlocked.

Residents are reminded to make sure their home, vehicle, and garage are locked and outside lights are turned on every night before going to bed.
