Former Wico. Co. Humane Society director charged in alleged theft scheme

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – Former Wicomico County Humane Society Director Aaron Balsamo has officially been indicted on a felony charge for allegedly stealing over $50,000 from the county.

Balsamo is facing a theft scheme charge of upwards of $100,000. Back in February, charging documents revealed that Balsamo may have stolen up to about $58,000 from the Humane Society.

They also show the former director used the company card 668 times to buy unauthorized items. If Balsamo is found guilty, he could be facing up to 10 years behind bars and or a $10,000 fine.

He’s set to appear in court on April 26th for an initial appearance.
