Easton baseball captures first bracket championship at Henry S. Parker Invitational
Easton takes home inaugural bracket championship
SALISBURY, Md.- In the inaugural Henry S. Parker Invitational, Easton took down Salisbury Christian and WiHi en route to the bracket championship.
WiHi vs. North Dorchester, WiHi wins 4-2
In round one, WiHi was able to outlast North Dorchester to reach the championship game, beating the Eagles 4-2.
WiHi would put the first runs on the board with an Austin Daly sacrifice fly, but North Dorchester would eventually take the 2-1 lead on an Andrew Johnson fielders choice and a passed ball.
WiHi would tie things up on a passed ball of their own, and take a lead they wouldn’t let up on a Daniel Davis RBI.
Easton vs. WiHi, Easton wins 5-2
So in the championship, WiHi met up with Easton who was coming off a 12-0 shutout against Salisbury Christian in their first round matchup.
Easton would get on the Tribe early, with Jaden Cassell scoring Trent Weems on a sacrifice fly.
The Tribe, they’d hold the lead for the majority of the game. Daniel Davis would score Matt Lowe with an RBI single to eventually take the 2-1 lead, an advantage they’d hold until the top of the 7th.
In Easton’s final inning at bat, they’d put together a rally, putting up four runs to get the 5-2 win. Their rally was highlighted by a bases loaded, two-RBI double from Ashton Echtermach.
