Del. State Trooper seen playing basketball with kids in Dover

DOVER, Del. – A picture of a Delaware State Trooper is going viral on social media, after he was seen playing basketball with kids in Kent County.

Delaware State Police tells 47 ABC that Cpl. Mark Kristunas, with Troop 9 in Odessa, was called to the area of the Pinewood Acres neighborhood on Tuesday for an unrelated case.

A spokesperson for DSP says Cpl. Kristunas started a conversation with a group of kids and ended up playing basketball with them, in the Dover neighborhood near Route 13.

Jeff Lehnert, a Delaware resident, shared the pictures on Facebook saying, “Shout out to my brother in Blue who was doing more for these kids by shooting some hoops with them, than he ever could by just patrolling the neighborhood. Well done Trooper!”
