Colonels remain unbeaten, capture Bayside North title

St. Michaels, MD- The Colonel Richardson baseball team improved to 16-0, defeating 1A Bayside North rival St. Michaels 5-1 on Tuesday afternoon.

Both teams remained scoreless until the top of the fourth inning, when the Colonels broke through. Mason Lambert’s flare to right field would drop just between the first baseman and outfielder, scoring the first two runs of the game. Nate Brown would single shortly after to give CR a 3-0 lead.

The Saints were held scoreless until the 6th inning, when Grant Labelle slapped an RBI single into left field. Colonel countered with two more runs in the 7th, a Jackie Zebron RBI double, and a Zebron score (on a passed ball) would give the road team a 4-run cushion that they would not let up.

The win gives Colonel coach Dan Mangum his 6th Bayside North title in his 11 year career.
