Capital School District referendum passes

DOVER, Del. – The Capital School District in Dover will be getting two new middle schools, along with several upgrades and renovations.

On Tuesday, voters passed a referendum by a measure of 1746 to 1801 in favor of adding the two new schools. They also voted to add necessary upgrades for the new middle schools, renovations to Central Elementary School, and the increase of the district’s operating rate.

Now that these referendums have passed, residents can expect to see a four dollar increase in taxes per month for the first year and just under $5.50 for the second year before seeing a decrease after that.
