BROADKILL BEACH, Del. – 47 ABC has confirmed through the National Weather Service that the damage we saw in and around Broadkill Beach was in fact caused by a tornado. According to the NWS, the tornado, an E-F-1 started in Harbeson and ended by the beach.
Investigators say that it was produced by the same system that created the E-F-2 in the Laurel area.

47ABC saw the damage first-hand and documented it. Our Chief Meteorologist Daniel Johnson said at the time [Monday], it likely was, and now his suspicions have been confirmed.
