Wawa celebrates Maryland Day

SALISBURY, Md. – In honor of Maryland Day on Monday,  Wawa stores across the Old line State are celebrated by giving back.

Joined by Mardela High School’s Pep Band and Unified Sports Team, Wawa announced its donation of $25,000 to Maryland Special Olympics Unified Sports Programs.

At Monday’s celebration at one of Wawa’s Salisbury stores, coaches, Special Olympics representatives, as well as Wawa representatives talked about spreading awareness and celebrating diversity.

Adam Schall who works for Wawa said, “What an amazing cause. They’re just heroic individuals who show bravery every day and its a privilege to be able to donate to them. That’s what Wawa is about, really bringing the community together.”

We’re told that Wawa donates over a million dollars a year to special Olympics and Monday’s contribution is just one of several they will make throughout the year.
